October Full Moon Hike and Observatory Moon Viewing
October 28, 2023 - 8:00pm to 10:00pm
Join Pittsburgh Park Rangers on a full moon hike! After the hike we will look at the moon through the telescope at the Allegheny Observatory.
See the park from a whole different perspective on this hike through the forests of Riverview Park under the moonlight, with Park Rangers guiding the way. Flashlights will be on hand if absolutely needed, but the goal is to use nothing but the moonlight, and to learn about our surroundings, the forest, and the night sky.
The hike will last about an hour. We will loop back to the Allegheny Observatory where participants will have the opportunity to look through the telescopes and view the moon!
This is a weather dependent event!!!
Please include the best email to contact to you in your registration so you can be notified about potential cancellations. All participants must register, there are only 25 spots available. Closed toed shoes and water bottles are recommended.
