Please join me in congratulating Andrew Mugler and his student Michael Vennettilli who have won the 2022 Irwin Oppenheim Award from the American Physical Society, "For demonstrating the trade-offs associated with feedback-induced criticality in multicellular sensing, through analysis of simple models, which is published in the article entitled ‘Multicellular sensing at a feedback-induced critical point’ in Physical Review E 102, 052411 (2020)."
They are joined by their co-author Amir Erez (Hebrew University, Jerusalem). The Oppenheim Award is for the best paper of the year in Physical Review E by young authors no more than 12 years past Ph.D.
