Luis Miguel Delgado “Bitácorade un viajeal vacío; Travels to the void, a logbook”

“Bitácora de un viaje al vacío; Travels to the void, a logbook” aims to highlight, through speculation, the journey that scientists embark on during their academic work and the ways in which this journey is not under the total control of the scientists themselves, rather, it is a constant interaction with elements that have their own agency. In that sense, this work proposes the metaphor of the scientific research process as a journey to an unknown or “undiscovered” place. This piece hopes to evoke the intense interaction of scientist, technology and particles, in which we cannot draw a hierarchic relationship, rather, each agent is an essential actor that contributes equally to the construction of the journey. To achieve this, the structure of the musical discourse will be centered on the decisions that the interpreter may take based on the interactive possibilities with the live electronics. This indeterminacy calls to mind as well, the projections of the possible directions and results resolved in such a journey.
