Research

Xi Cao is an experimentist works in the field of superconducting quantum information processing. He is interested in parametric amplifiers, superconducting qubit control and readout. Specifically, his research focuses on:

  1. Using two-mode squeezed light that travel down both arms of an interferometer to readout the qubit in order to achieve a measurement that has high Signal-to-Noise ratio than the conventional coherent light readout.
  2. Create a controllable thermal bath for a qubit by parametrically coupling it to another lossy mode.
