The Department of Physics and Astronomy and the Department of Computational and Systems Biology hosted Pitt Biological Physics Day on September 17, 2024 at the O'Hara Student Center.
This inaugural workshop at the University of Pittsburgh showcased the vibrant research programs at the University and the greater Pittsburgh area. Its aim was to foster continuous interactions and collaborations within and beyond the community, while also presenting trainees and prospective trainees with the breadth of biological physics research.
The workshop featured invited talks, a keynote talk by Joshua Shaevitz (Princeton University), lightning talks, and poster presentations. Attendees included undergraduates, graduate students, postdocs, and faculty from the Pittsburgh biological physics community.
“Biological physics is a rapidly growing field, and Pitt is very much a part of that growth, with many dynamic research groups pushing the field forward. We wanted to showcase that effort to the Pitt community and beyond.” -Dr. Andrew Mugler
