Inspired by Carles Badenes' work on multiple star systems, Danielle Bouchard weaves stellar observations into her writing. She takes inspiration from the “companionship” of stars, sometimes referred to as “stellar marriages.” These stars live and die close to each other—their lives and deaths are linked. Bouchard’s work focuses on these companionships, mapping the life of stars and linking the lives of stars to our own.
Danielle Bouchard is a writer pursuing a degree in English literature and English writing, along with a minor in statistics. She blends the factual with the creative, mainly composing works in the style of lyric essays. Lyric essay is the work of accumulation. It combines poetry and prose, constructing a journey from words and facts of the outside world, stitched together by the writer’s own words. The lyric essay embraces a fragmentary style, merging poetry and prose, resulting in a unique map of the writer’s world. The final lyric essay uniquely represents the writers’ perspective.
